Every year, Starr Homes participates in the Artisan Home Tour presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City. The tour showcases seven of Kansas City’s finest custom home builders, and partners with a charity each year. The 2020 Artisan Home Tour is benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. 

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for the Artisan Tour will go to JDRF to fund T1D research. Leading up to the tour, each participating home builder is paired with a JDRF ambassador, someone affected by T1D. Starr Homes is proud to be partnered with 17-year-old Kaitlyn Quinn and her family to support and raise awareness for youth affected by juvenile diabetes.

Kaitlyn will walk side-by-side with the Starr Homes team while we build our featured custom home from the ground up! We will teach Kaitlyn all about the building process, and take her on the job site so that she can see what it takes to build a 14,000 square-foot house!

For the Artisan Tour, each of the eight exhibiting builders builds a one-of-a-kind home for members of the public to tour through. Our featured home will be the largest on the tour at nearly 14,000 square feet! This 1-½ story plan will include 6 bedrooms, 7 baths, a bowling alley, and a volleyball court.

Starr Homes has been a participating custom home builder for years. About last year’s event, Starr Homes President Gerry Starr said, “Not only did the tour allow our clients and the Kansas City community to view the detail and craftsmanship we put into our homes, but it benefited a great cause.”

Starr Homes is proud to participate in the 2020 Artisan Home Tour and join JDRF in the fight against T1D. The 2020 Tour will take place the first three weekends in June 2020: June 5-7, 12-14 and 19-21. Purchase tickets in advance for $30 for all seven homes, or buy tickets during the event for $10 per home.
