About Braden's Hope Braden's Hope For Childhood Cancer is a local 501c3 organization that raises awareness and funds for targeted therapies of childhood cancers. Childhood cancer is the #1 killer by disease among children yet it is very overlooked and underfunded often leaving our youngest heroes with no hope for a future. The organization is named after Braden Hofen who was diagnosed at age 3 with stage 4 neuroblastoma. His cancer relapsed when he was 5 and he was told there was no known cure for his cancer. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months after his relapse and they had chemotherapy in two locations on the same days. Braden developed a secondary leukemia that was caused by the treatments to save his life from the neuroblastoma. Today he is beating the odds and is a 5 year relapsed neuroblastoma survivor making him one of the fewer than 10% of children who survive a relapse. He is also two years into remission from his leukemia thanks to his brother's bone marrow donation to try to save his life. Braden's Hope For Childhood Cancer has awarded nearly $600,000 in research grants to find targeted treatments for children with cancer and bring them hope for a future. The organization's goal is to award $400,000 in 2016 which would bring them to $1,000,000 in just five years. At Braden's Hope For Childhood Cancer we say, "HOPE...TAKE THAT CANCER!" because with your help, we fight so no other child has to hear the words, no known cure.
